Henry Jesse “Hank” Vertrees: February 12, 1926 – February 3, 2001
My father dropped his robes this month and crossed over to the camp on
the other side. His final calling was through a massive stroke; he seemed
at peace and went gently, for which I and my family are grateful. The
outpouring from friends and acquaintances was heartwarming and I
would like to thank those who sent cards, notes, flowers, and showed up
on my doorstep. Also, the wake we held at my parent’s house was well
attended by friends and families of not only my dad and mom’s, but of us
kids and even the grandchildren. I didn’t know several of the people who
came, which showed me that my folks have touched so many lives beyond
my knowing of them. This is a new walk for me and my family, and I
know it will be blessed with love, new understanding, acceptance and a
great number of beautiful relationships.

Classes and Groups in the Making:
1) Honoring the Mother Earth and All Our Relations: an introduction
to ways of reconnecting with Self and to Nature, and what that can teach
us. Ceremony may follow.
2) Building a Loving Relationship with Self: an in-depth look at the
relationship we have with our Self and how that reflects onto all of our
relationships.
3) Women’s Circle of Healing: Group meeting for healing of Self,
Earth and All Our Relations: weekly or monthly gatherings for coming
together in ceremony with intent on healing ourselves, our loved ones,
and Earth as a whole.
4) 13 Original Clan Mothers: the feminine principles of the Earth
Mother, through story, conversation and hands on experiences, we will
integrate the 13 aspects of Truth as told by Jamie Sams. Everyone has a
feminine and a masculine side and it is important for males and females
alike to balance the two. This series addresses the feminine and is
directed toward women, however, men are welcome to come and learn
about their feminine aspects as well.
These classes and groups, all except for the 13 Original Clan Mothers, can
be held in your home with a gathering of friends and will also be offered
at my studio in Enumclaw. Dates and costs will be announced next month
for the offerings at my home. For more information or to email your

As you can see I’m gathering my seeds this winter and pray they will grow
corn. We all are in need of a little love and compassion these days;
perhaps we can gather together and learn more about loving ourselves
and each other. Women are the healers, the nurturers of this Earth Walk,
and before we can help others, we have to love and accept ourselves.
