StillPoint Reiki
and Shamanic Healing
All Creatures Small
December 5, 2008
Well, I headed out this morning for my daily hike up Mt. Peak; I was almost to
the trail head when something on the ground caught my eye. It was a tiny
mouse! It looked up at me and took a wobbly step and stopped. Kneeling
down, I extended my hand to it. The poor thing wobbled right into my glove.
I thought, "okay reiki opportunity," and asked the healing be for its highest
healing; whether it was to help it pass over or heal. It curled up in my glove
and I semi-covered it with my other hand. We went all the way up Peak and
back down that way- about 50 minutes. A couple of times during the hike the
mouse poked its head out and moved around a bit--still wobbly. I decided
when I got back to the spot where I found it, I would offer it freedom, but
when I got there the little guy (or gal, not sure) was tucked deep into my hand
and breathing peacefully. So, I just walked back to my house; I was almost
home when the mouse poked his head out and twitched its whiskers at me and
was walking around my hands steady as can be! "Oh my gosh," I thought, and
I walked back a ways to set him free in the woods; I sat there with it for
awhile but it didn't want to leave my hands, it kept crawling back into my
gloves. I had been laboring over what I could keep him in, if necessary, that
would be safe and warm--there are many cats around my house. Suddenly a
thought came to me--my greenhouse! I made a little bed out of some planting
moss and a piece of fleece. I set him in the sun and put some seeds in with
him. By the time I came back with a granola bar, he (I guess its a he now)
was walking around the rim of the pot. We played for a while and then I gave
him some granola bar. He started eating slowly and after awhile I went back
inside. My last check on him found him eating everything in sight! He still has
no fear of me.... so cool. My gratitude to the Universal energy. Peg Vertrees
